The FTAAf opens up great prospects, several challenges are still hampering its optimal implementation.

Major challenges

• Insufficient infrastructure roads, railways and ports that are still poorly connected.
• Complex customs formalities slowness and bureaucracy between countries.
• Development gaps Not all countries are at the same industrial level.
• Lack of information What ZLECAf has to offer: citizens and entrepreneurs are sometimes unaware of what ZLECAf has to offer.

Possible solutions

• Investing in regional infrastructures
• Train customs officers and harmonize procedures
• Supporting the least developed countries
• Raising awareness among young people, women and SMEs
